Below are the fishing reports for area lakes, compiled as reported this week by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Lake Brownwood

Water stained; 80–84 degrees; 0.19’ low. Black bass are good on watermelon and redbug crankbaits, Rat–L–Traps, and spinnerbaits over grass flats. Hybrid striper are good on shad. White bass are very good on Li’l Fishies and minnows. Crappie are good on minnows and green tube jigs. Channel catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait.

Lake Coleman

Water murky; 79–83 degrees; 5.72’ low. Black bass are good on pumpkinseed Rat–L–Traps and soft plastics. Hybrid striper are fair on silver striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs. Channel catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 79–86 degrees; 40.82’ low. Black bass are good on Yellow Magics early, later switching to shakyheads, Texas rigs, split shot rigged flukes and crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs fished shallow. Catfish are fair to good on live bait.

Lake Proctor

Water murky; 79–83 degrees; 8.27’ high. Black bass are fair on dark crankbaits and pumpkinseed soft plastic worms. Striped bass are very good on live shad. White bass are good on minnows and pet spoons. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait. Yellow catfish are slow.
