A woman was transported to the hospital after her vehicle was struck by a semi-truck in the intersection of Austin Avenue and Main Street Monday morning.

According to Brownwood Police, the accident occurred at 8:42 a.m. as the white Chevy passenger vehicle was traveling north, attempting to make a left turn in the 300 block of Austin Avenue.  As the vehicle made the turn, it was struck by a semi-truck which was traveling south in the 800 block of Main Street.

The impact of the collision caused the Chevy to strike a Ford Focus.  The Chevy and the semi-truck were towed from the scene.  The Ford was still drivable after the accident and was not towed; its occupant was reported to be uninjured.

The female driver of the Chevy was transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries, according to police.
