Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes, compiled as reported this week by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Lake Brownwood

Water stained; 78–86 degrees; 0.98’ high. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows and white or shad Li’l Fishies in 9–12 feet. Channel catfish slow. Blue catfish are excellent on juglines baited with cut perch and shad in 10–12 feet Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with perch and goldfish in 8–18 feet.

Lake Coleman

Water murky; 79–85 degrees; 5.44’ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and soft plastics. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on trotlines baited with perch. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 79–86 degrees; 40.03’ low. Black bass are good on Yellow Magics early, later switching to Texas rigs, Senkos and crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs fished shallow. Catfish are fair to good on live bait.

Lake Proctor

Water murky; 78–86 degrees; 14.11’ high. Black bass are fair on watermelon crankbaits and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are good on silver striper jigs. White bass are good on minnows and Li’l Fishies. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines and juglines baited with live bait. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait.
