Brownwood Fire Department – Fire & Rescue Reports 6/29

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the period of June 22 – 28, 2015 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 18 medical emergencies, 9 fire calls, and 3 motor vehicle accidents.

Reports of interest that the Brownwood Fire Department responded to include:

Monday, June 22

*11:27 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at the intersection of 4th Street and Avenue K.

Tuesday, June 23

*12:17 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1000 block of Coggin Avenue.  No incident was found on arrival.

*1:28 PM – Brownwood Fire Department MVA Austin Ave / Coggin Ave involving 2 vehicles with no injuries.

*2:33 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire on Hwy 183 South.  Firefighters arrived on scene with Early Volunteer Fire Department and assisted with extinguishment of the fire.

*8:12 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 100 block of Avenue I.  Firefighters investigated a dumpster/trash fire.  The fire was out upon arrival.

Wednesday, June 24

*10:29 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 100 block of Bowie Circle regarding smoke detector activation.  Firefighters arrived on scene and were notified by the tenant that a battery caused the detector to activate and there was no fire.

Thursday, June 25

*1:20 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a minor motor vehicle accident with no injuries in the 600 block of W. Commerce.

Friday, June 26

*2:44 PM – Brownwood Fire Department  was dispatched to a fire call in the 1400 block of Fisk Avenue regarding a grass fire on the railroad right of way.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find small fire was being extinguished.  Railroad personnel fully extinguished the fire.

*9:25 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 1700 block of 4th Street where lightening had thrown the main breaker to a house.  Fire personnel turned the breaker back on and checked for heat extension.

*11:48 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1100 block of FM 3254 where lightening had struck a house, throwing a main breaker.  Fire personnel turned the breaker back on and checked for heat extension.

Saturday, June 27

*1:15 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 2000 block of Brady Avenue.  Brownwood Police Department needed to use a ladder to get on the back balcony of an apartment.

*9:27 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2100 block of Center Avenue regarding a report of smoke.  Fire crews located a construction waste fire in the back yard of the residence and the owner was notified of city ordinance.  The fire was extinguished.
