Brownwood Fire Department – Fire & Rescue Reports 6/24

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the period of June 15 – 21, 2015 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 21 medical emergencies, 5 fire calls, 1 hazardous materials call and 5 motor vehicle accidents.

Reports of interest that the Brownwood Fire Department responded to include:

Monday, June 15

*12:44 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1600 block of Oakland Terrace regarding smoke in the garage of a residence. Firefighters arrived on scene to find the resident out of the house. Entry was made and the fire was knocked down.  Overhaul was started.

*10:34 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries at Austin Avenue and Fisk Street.  Fire crews assisted with loading the occupant of the vehicle for transport.

Tuesday, June 16

*8:44 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 100 block of Streckert Drive for an alarm activation.  Firefighters arrived on scene with nothing showing.  After an investigation, the incident was determined to be a system malfunction.

Wednesday, June 17

*1:32 AM – Brownwood Fire Department Fire Call 101 Streckert Drive regarding an alarm activation.  Fire crews arrived on scene with nothing showing.  Firefighters walked around outside and used thermal camera, but nothing was found.  The incident was determined to be system malfunction.

 

*6:37 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 500 block of E. Commerce for an alarm activation. Maintenance inside the building had caused the alarm activation and there was no fire.

Thursday, June 18

*2:53 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 2400 block of S. Highway 377 involving a van striking a trailer.  Extrication of the driver was performed and he was loaded in the ambulance for transport.

*6:44 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire on Brentwood Circle.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a lawn mower on fire.  Fire crews extinguished the fire.

Friday, June 19

*3:13 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident on S. Highway 377.  Firefighters arrived on scene to assist EMS and to clear the roadway.

*8:03 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 600 block of Center Avenue.  Fire crews assisted EMS and cleared the roadway.

Saturday, June 20

*9:21 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a gas leak in the 1100 block of Santa Clara Drive. A gas meter had been struck in the backyard of a residence and Atmos was notified.

Sunday, June 21

*5:49 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident on Highway 67 and County Road 154 involving a single vehicles striking livestock in the road.
