Betty Ann Childers

ChildersBettyAnnBetty Ann (Kizer) Childers was born on May 28, 1953 in Baird to Ralph and Beth (Warfield) Kizer. She attended Rising Star schools and graduated from Rising Star High School in 1971. She married Harry “Chilly” Childers on June 24, 1990 in Rising Star. Betty was a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church.

Betty is survived by her husband Chilly Childers of Rising Star; two daughters, Robin Griffin Smith and husband Chris of Abilene and Kelly Griffin Runyan and husband Clayton of Abilene; four grandchildren, Benjamin and Grayson Smith and Jack and Kizer Runyan of Abilene; a sister, Mary Jane Ellis and husband Steve of Brownwood; a nephew, Justin Pittman and niece Lindsey Pittman; aunt, Dorothy Schlinker, and cousins, John Schlinker, Margie Smith, and Peggy Edwards.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Marc Kizer, a sister, Diana Kizer, paternal grandparents, E.O. and Daisy Kizer and maternal grandmother, Ann Warfield.

Betty Ann passed from this life on Monday, June 15, 2015 in Brownwood.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Facioscapulohumeral (FSH) Society 450 Bedford Street Lexington, MA 02420 or a charity of your choice.
