Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes, compiled as reported this week by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Lake Brownwood

Water murky; 76–82 degrees; 0.83′ low. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are excellent on swimbaits, Pop–R’s, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits in 2–6 feet. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish to 5 pounds are excellent on trotlines baited with cheesebait and cut shad. Yellow catfish to 43 pounds are good on trotlines baited with perch and goldfish in 3–10 feet.

Lake Coleman

Water murky; 78–84 degrees; 9.26′ low. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 75–83 degrees; 42.74′ low. Black bass are good on Yellow Magics early, later switching to Texas rigs, Senkos and crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs fished shallow. Catfish are fair to good on live bait.

Lake Proctor

Water murky; 78–84 degrees; 14.81′ high. Black bass are fair on crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and watermelon soft plastics. Striped bass are fair on white striper jigs. White bass are fair on minnows and shad colored crankbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.
