Muriel Beamish, 79, of Brownwood, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015, in Brownwood.

Muriel Phylis Beamish was born October 9, 1935, in Chicago, IL, to Oliver and Cora (Krause) Beamish.  She attended the University of Wisconsin-Stephen’s Point in Stephen’s Point, WI, where she received her B.S. degree.  Muriel went to work for the Girl Scouts of The U.S.A in 1955 and remained with the organization until about 2000.  During her time with the Girl Scouts, she was the CEO of 3 Girl Scouts Councils.  Muriel also worked with Girl Scouts Overseas and spent 4 years in England and Germany.

Muriel is survived by 2 sisters, Jannette Beamish and Marilyn Scheppa, and 8 nieces and nephews.

Muriel is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Cora Beamish; her brother, Warren Beamish, and a nephew.
