Brownwood Fire Department – Fire & Rescue Reports 6/2

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the period of May 25-31, 2015 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 31 medical emergencies, 13 fire calls, and 6 motor vehicle accidents.

Reports of interest that the Brownwood Fire Department responded to include:

Monday, May 25

*7:06 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a fire call in the 1500 block of Austin Avenue to the report of a fire in a carport.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find the fire had been put out by employees.  An electrical short had caught a plastic cover on fire and no extension was found.

*6:58 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 700 block of Avenue G involving a motorcycle and a parked car.  The driver was transported to the emergency room.

Tuesday, May 26

*9:53 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of C. C. Woodson Road and FM 2525.  Two patients were transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Thursday, May 28

*12:48 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a single vehicle rollover accident at W. Highway 67, near CR 152. Firefighters checked the driver for injuries and provided first aid.

*10:19 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a swift water rescue at Rogan and Brady Avenue.  The vehicle was caught in high, swift water with the driver still inside.  Rescue crews assisted the driver through the car window and on to tailboard.

Friday, May 29

*6:55 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire in the 5600 block of FM 45.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find semi tank truck on the road with heavy smoke showing from the back of the trailer.  Fire attack was started, the fire was extinguished and overhaul was performed.

*8:12 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 1800 block of Springlake regarding a structure fire.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find all occupants outside and light smoke showing.  The fire was out upon fire fighters’ arrival.  Fire crews checked for fire extension and the Fire Marshal arrived on scene.

Saturday, May 30

*4:04 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2700 block of Avenue D regarding a power line down.  Firefighters remained on scene for Oncor.

*10:45 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 2700 block of Austin Avenue.  As firefighters arrived on scene, the shop owner advised that the incident was a false alarm.

*12:56 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at the intersection of Romine and Commerce.

Sunday, May 31

*7:02 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a fire call in the area of Slayden Street and 11th Street.  The incident was determined to be a power line down.

*8:40 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident with injuries in the 200 block of E. Commerce.

*6:18 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to assist with a public service call in the 2300 block of Southside Drive.  Firefighters provided manpower.
