DelgadoErnestoErnesto Martinez Delgado “Ernie” 52 of Brownwood passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 11:00 am at Abundant Life Church located at 585 W. Commerce in Brownwood. A visitation will be held at the Brownwood Funeral Home located at 2512 Belle Plain, Tuesday from 6-8pm.

Ernesto Martinez Delgado was born in Brownwood TX on November 7, 1962 to Chris & Biolanda Delgado. Ernie received his primary education from Brownwood schools, graduating from Brownwood High School in the class of 1980. In 1989 Ernie enlisted in the US Navy and served his country until 1997. Ernie served in Desert Storm, and Desert Sweep on the largest US Navy Ship, the USS Nimitz. While in the Navy, Ernie received several accolades which included, National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Medal w/Bronze Star, and South West Asia Service Medal w/Bronze Star. Ernie loved Music, playing dominoes. He also loved to watch Baseball and his favorite football team, the San Francisco 49ers. Ernie was employed at 3M for 18 years and worked as a production operator.

Ernie lost his fight with cancer in Brownwood TX, on May 20, 2015. Ernie is survived by his wife Sareta Spratt-Delgado, daughter Leticia Delgado, and step-son Chase McKinney (Courtney). Mother Biolanda Villalpando (Ben), Brothers Chris Delgado (Tracey), Gilbert Delgado (Stacey), Nicholas Delgado Sr. (Cindy) ,all of Brownwood; 4 grandchildren Ezekiel, Divinity, Marcus, and Gianna; Nieces & Nephews, Richard, Alex, Kayla and Caren, Jonathan and Nicholas; His dog Spade, and a host of Aunts,Uncles, extended family and many friends.

Ernie was preceded in death by Father Christopher Delgado, Sr. and 2 special uncles Raymond Delgado, and Eliazar Martinez who were both Military Veterans; Maternal Grandparents Adela and Jose Martinez, and Paternal Grandparents N.R. Delgado and Inez.
