Johnye Mae Brown Lowrey was born to Dorothy and Fred Brown in Roosevelt, TX on May 22, 1945. She passed away after a short illness on April 30, 2015, at the age of 69 years old.

Johnye was preceded in death by her father Fred Brown, two brothers; Fred Brown, Jr. and Ernest Glenn Brown.
She is survived by two daughters and one son; Kyla Paige Brown Sledge and husband Craig Sledge, Crissy Dalyn McGettes, future husband Tom South and Jerry Douglas Whitson; her mother, Dorothy Mae Brown; sister, Gale Brown Garrett and her husband Gary Garrett; her brother, James Gregory Brown; and her sister, Janice Elaine Brown; her grandsons, Dusty Dale Henry, Tyler Sledge, Cody Sledge and granddaughter, Samantha Christine Combs; 2 great-grand-children, Carson Sledge and Caden Sledge, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Johnye spent her working years as a licensed vocational nurse after earning her Associates Degree in nursing from Ranger Junior College.

Visitation will be at Davis-Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm on Sunday, May 3, 2015. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 4, 2015, 2:00pm, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood, TX.
