Law enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday, April 28, 2015.
Monday, April 27
*12:16 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of criminal mischief. According to the report, the property owner stated that previous tenants had “trashed” her property before moving out. Damage was estimated between $1500 and $20,000, the report states.
*7:03 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 279. According to the report, the driver, identified as 25-year-old Jennifer Rose Jones of Brownwood, was found to have a suspended driver’s license. Jones was subsequently arrested, charged with driving while license invalid with previous conviction.
*8:44 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Almond Street regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated that one of her foster children assaulted another foster child. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.
* 9:16 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy met with a complainant regarding a scam. According to the report, the complainant had received a letter in the mail about 2 weeks ago from Speedy Cash which stated she owed them money for a loan.
*9:35 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2100 block of Brady Avenue regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown male subject struck him with a baseball bat.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old Christopher James Cotton of Brownwood for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old David Robles Ortega, Jr. on a warrant related to motion to revoke/manufacture delivery of a controlled substance not in penalty group in a drug free zone. Ortega was booked into the Brown County Jail and later released on $10,000 bond.
Tuesday, April 28
*12:41 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop which resulted in the arrest of 25-year-old Donny Reece Hopkins of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated 3rd or more.
