Brownwood High School FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) members competed in various categories at the Texas FCCLA conference in Corpus Christi, Texas April 9-11, 2015.

In March, all students participated at the Region II competition in Waco to earn the privilege of competing at this state level competition.  Students took Family and Consumer Science Assessments (FCSA’s) and participated in STAR events, which are speaking events requiring research, documentation, and presentation of a research topic or creating a project, researching, and presenting the project along with the research in a speaking event. Students taking FCSA’s advanced to the highest level offered by FCCLA.

Amanda Montalvo, Zachary Domingez, Laura McBride, Trisha Russell, Mykayla Liendo, Pamela Russell, Lorena Saldana, and Alyce Goodall (not pictured) participated in STAR events at the state level.

Pamela Russell (pictured at top) will be advancing to the national FCCLA conference in Washington D.C. in July to compete with FCCLA students from across the nation.
