ConawayBrown County Republican Women’s Club will host their monthly luncheon on Friday, April 10th, 11:30 a.m. at the Brownwood Country Club.

The guest speaker will be Congressman Mike Conaway, United States House of Representatives, 11th Congressional District. Conaway will present his annual Washington update at the luncheon.

Conaway is serving his sixth term in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing 29 counties in Texas’ 11th Congressional District.  In the House, Congressman Conaway is the chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture and also serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.  He is a deputy Republican whip, a position he has held since the 112th Congress.

BCRW members are asked to bring food donations for Good Samaritan Ministries’ homeless food boxes. Items needed include:  instant oatmeal packages, small cans of beans, chili, soup/stews, granola bars, jerky, Vienna sausages, nuts, dried fruit, and meals in a can, such as Spaghettios or ravioli and Ramen noodles.  Members may make a monetary donation instead of bring items.  GSM is helping an average of 35 homeless individuals a month, some of whom pick up a box of food more than once. GSM staff offered thanks in advance to those participating in this collection of food for the homeless.

Membership with the Brown County Republican Women’s Club is not required to attend the luncheon. The cost of the luncheon is $12 per person to be paid at the door.  Please RSVP Anne Casas at annecasas42@gmail.com or leave a message at 325-641-2789 by Wednesday, April 8th.
