After 30 ½ years as the City’s Engineer with the City of Brownwood, Don Hatcher has announced his retirement.

In his letter to City Manager Bobby Rountree, he states “I have been fortunate and blessed to have been able to continue to serve the citizens of Brownwood and get paid for that I was educated and trained to do, while enjoying most of the tasks and challenges placed before me.”  He went on to say how much he appreciated the support and friendship of the staff.

City Manager Rountree stated, “Don has been an asset to the city organization and the community of Brownwood for many years and he will be missed.  He will not be leaving us totally as he will stay on in a part-time capacity to help complete some ongoing projects.”

His last day as a full-time employee will be April 15, 2015.
