A memorial service for Victor Wayne “Vic” McCallie, age 77, of May, Texas will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Heartland Funeral Home in Early with Terry Simmons officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.  Mr. McCallie passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 in a Brownwood Nursing Home.

Mr. McCallie was born on November 15, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Victor Joel and Clara Stout McCallie and was a graduate of Abilene High School.  On April 14, 1957 he marriedPernicia Jane Fry in May, Texas.  They had resided in May for the past 50 years moving here from Abilene.  He served in the United States Marine Reserves, retired from 3M after 29 years of service and also ran the family farm.

Vic had many hobbies including traveling, reading mystery books, bird watching, football,  fixing up cars with his son Aaron, watching his daughter Shellon excel in track and spending time with his grandson Xander.  He will be remembered for his love to talk, making people laugh and making jokes.  He will be greatly missed by family and his many friends.

Survivors include his wife Jane McCallie of May; daughter ShellonMcCallie of Austin; son Aaron McCallie of May; grandson XanderMcCallie of May; sister Judy Rogers and husband Stanley of Ft. Worth; brother Tommy McCallie of Abilene; by numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Sharon Haskins.
