Bob and Ann Beadel were named the recipients for this year’s Coy Pullara Unsung Hero Award during the recent “Romancing the Stars” Dinner Dance on February 14. The couple received a standing ovation, after the presentation of the award.  Lowell Moore, who has known the Beadels for decades, gave a short biographical sketch of the many positive traits of the pair.  Their compassion, support and dedication to The ARK Domestic Violence Shelter were noted in Moore’s speech.

The “Romancing the Stars” dinner dance was a tremendous success according to organizers. From the tuxedo napkins to the chandelier, the Home Economics building at the Brown County Youth Fairgrounds was transformed into a ballroom resembling a Hollywood event.  Auctioneer Rex Tackett made the live auction come alive, with trips to New York and New Orleans auctioned, along with an especially lively bidding session for the guitar autographed by country legend George Strait.

The ARK Domestic Violence Shelter helps victims of domestic violence and/or sexual abuse and their families in Brown, Coleman and Comanche Counties. The phone number to call for help is 325-643-2699.  For more information about the ARK Shelter, visit www.arkshelter.org.
