Louis “L.L.” White

WhiteLLLouis “L.L.” White, 89, of Early, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015, in Abilene Regional Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 31, 2015, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel, with Jimmy Mize officiating.  Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2015, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Lauren Louis White was born February 10, 1925 in Cater County, Oklahoma, to Elisia G. White and Jewel Cowan White.  He and his wife Bonnie were married in 1951 and lived in Brown County since 1963.  For many years he was a stock farmer.  Joining the Marine Corps in 1943 at the age of 18, Mr. White served until February 1946 and achieved the rank of Corporal.  Mr. White was a member of the Salt Creek Baptist Church and the Pecan Valley Marine League.  Mr. White was proud to serve his country in World War II, and loved the United States Marine Corps.  He believed in the motto “Once a marine, always a marine”, while being a pushover in regard to his four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  He enjoyed rain storms, collecting, and his family farm.

L.L. is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie, eldest daughter Teresa and her husband Joe Drisdale of Austin, daughter Melinda and her husband Joe Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri, granddaughter Stefani and her husband Todd Mathis of Austin, granddaughter Chelsea Drisdale of Brownwood, grandsons Ryland Johnson of Columbia, Missouri and Lauren Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri, niece Kathy Moore of Granada Hills, California, nephew Ed White of Maui, Hawaii, two great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.

L.L. was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lawrence J. White.

A luncheon for family and friends will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, January 31, at Salt Creek Baptist Church, prior to the funeral service.
