2014BassClubAwards

The Brownwood Bass Club held their 2014 Awards Banquet Saturday at the Brown County Fair Barns. The annual family oriented event attracted more than 70 people of all ages for an evening of fellowship, a fried fish dinner with all the trimmings, and probably a fish story or two.

After the meal, prepared onsite by club members, the group gave a warm welcome home to Dustin “Bubba” Grice, who spoke briefly to the crowd about his experiences on the Walmart FLW Tour. Grice, who previously lived in Brown County, just completed his first year on the tour, having fished FLW sanctioned tournaments since 2004.

Club president Bruce Toeppich presented the 2014 top anglers with personalized plaques, as well as a monogrammed jacket, donated by Willies Ts, to the Junior Angler of the Year. Those receiving awards were:

Joey Wynn Angler of the Year 85.10 lbs
Jennetta Toeppich Lady Angler of the Year 15.86
Charlie Smith Junior Angler of the Year 18.47
Steve Butler Big Bass of the Year 8.97
