Brownwood Police Department welcomed a new officer to their ranks as Officer Jeremy Seider was given the Oath of Office and Law Enforcement Oath of Honor during Tuesday’s Brownwood City Council meeting.

City Secretary Christi Wynn gave the Oath of Office and the Law Enforcement Oath of Honor was given by Assistant Chief of Police James Fuller.  Seider’s father, B.J. Seider, had the honor of pinning the badge to his son’s uniform during the ceremony.

Assistant Chief Fuller welcomed Officer Seider to the force.

“We are very proud to have Jeremy come to the police department and fill this position.  He is someone who has always hit the ground running,” said Fuller.  “I think the training officers can attest to the fact he is someone you have to slow down instead of speed up, and that’s just the way we like the officers.”

Mayor Stephen Haynes thanked Seider for his service stating, “Jeremy, we are thankful that you are here, we welcome you to the City of Brownwood.  Know that you are in our prayers and our thoughts and we wish you nothing but safety and well being in your job.  Thank you for being a public servant.”
