Gumesindo “Gomez” Moreno

MorenoGomezGumesindo “Gomez” Moreno, age 89, of San Saba went to his eternal home Sunday, January 25, 2015 from Senior Care of Brownwood.

Funeral Services for Gomez will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Shiloh Bible Church with Bro. Bill Slaymaker officiating, interment will follow at Richland Springs Cemetery. Visitation for the family will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba.

Gomez was born on February 13, 1925 to Genaro and Margarita (Gonzales) Moreno in San Saba. Gomez was a lifetime resident of San Saba. He worked for Amthor Construction for 35 years and he also worked for the City of San Saba. He was a member of Shiloh Bible Church. Gomez loved his family dearly and loved to be around his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.

Gomez leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Linda Zamudio of Virginia, Gomez Moreno, Jr. and wife Vicki of Richland Springs, John Moreno of San Saba, Raymond Moreno and wife Pamela of Brownwood, Betty Beddow and husband Steve of Early; fourteen grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; sister, Pauline Soto of Cedar Park; brother, Raymond Moreno of San Antonio. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Moreno; parents; daughter, Rosalee Viarreal; siblings, Anselma Zapata, Pedro Moreno, Victor Moreno, Trinidad Moreno, and Antonia Delgado.
