CTSAC Prepares for Canines, Cats and Cabernet 2015 Vegas Style, Sponsors Sought

CaninesCatsCabernet2015

The Corinne T. Smith Animal Center (CTSAC) is preparing for its flagship fundraiser, Canines Cats and Cabernet, on March 20, 2015.  This will be the ninth year that the center has hosted the event.

In 2014, CTSAC’s 4 full time employees housed and cared for over 3,800 animals.  While the number of animals coming in has decreased from past years by twenty percent, thanks to education and spay/neuter grants, this is still a lot of animals for a town of 6648 households.

It is estimated that it costs over $500 dollars a day to operate the shelter.  The approved budget for this year is $196,365.00 of which the City of Brownwood contributes a small annual stipend of $41,000.00. This illustrates how the center relies heavily on support of community donations to keep the doors open to all the lost and abandoned animals of Brown County.  The CTSAC has a policy that no animal is ever turned away.

This year CTSAC is inviting the public and local companies to “gamble” on your community partner.  To make Canines, Cats and Cabernet an even more exciting event this year, organizers of the event are bringing “Casino” to Brownwood.  CTSAC anticipates this will be an energetic and fun way to raise more money for the shelter, but help is needed from both individuals and companies for support.

CTSAC is looking for special businesses to sponsor casino tables at the event.  For additional information, please contact Leona Cleveland 325-203-0261, Cary Perrin 325-641-9029 or Freda Day 325-646-0617.
