Brownwood Fire Department was called to a structure fire in the 1700 block of Fort Worth Street Monday morning where they arrived to find a wood frame home fully engulfed in flames.

The fire was initially reported by neighbors around 11:40 a.m.

The home was vacant at the time of the fire, however, previous occupants stated that they had just sold the home and had lived there for 30 years prior to the sale.  Although the previous occupants stated there were no active utilities at the home, Oncor worked to cut off the electricity to the home while firefighters were putting out the fire.

Fire Marshal Buddy Preston was on scene investigating the cause of the fire.  The home was recently purchased by neighbors to be torn down and there was no insurance on the property according to Preston.   The cause was undetermined at the time of the fire.

Above and below are photos from the fire scene.
