CanonJearldineJearldine Canon, 83, of Brownwood, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014, in Brownwood.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, December 20, 2014, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Todd King officiating.  Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 19, 2014, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.

Jearldine (Smith) Canon was born March 12, 1931, in Cisco, Texas, to Wiley Thomas and Mary Estelle (Johnson) Smith.  Jearldine was a loving mother, a dedicated wife, and a wonderful person.  She loved spending time with her family.  Jearldine especially looked forward to celebrating the holiday season with her children and grandchildren; her favorite time of year.  Jearldine was also an amazingly talented cook.  She could make just about anything and she never needed a recipe.  Her specialties were sweets and baked goods, usually pies and cakes.  Jearldine made sure to pass her love and knowledge for cooking on to her children and grandchildren.  Jearldine was a truly unique soul and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jearldine was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Mary Smith; her first husband, Elmer B. Hall; her second husband, Stephen B. Canon, Jr.; her sisters, Ruby Eshee and twin sister, Jean Wilkins; two brothers, Burl Smith and Donald Smith; two grandsons, Christopher Hart and Gerald Canon; and her great-grandson, Garrett Wayne Hall.

Jearldine is survived by her children, Gayland Hall and wife Sherry of San Angelo, Gwendolyn Hart and husband Tommy of Brownwood, Donna Canon and husband Stephen of Beach City, Murphy Canon and wife Patty of Bartlesville, OK, and Beth Williams and husband Al of Sherman; her sister, Wanda Edmondson of San Angelo; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Memories, messages, and condolences can be left for the family at www.davismorrisfuneralhome.com.
