The Early Elementary School Honor Choir, an auditioned group of 4th and 5th graders, held a Caroling Day on Tuesday December 16th.  These students dedicate an hour after school every week to sing together and prepare for their performances.

Stops on the Caroling Day tour included Citizen’s National Bank, Texas Bank (Downtown Location), Heartland Mall, Brownwood Nursing and Rehabilitation, and the EISD Administration Building.

Brownwood Nursing and Rehabilitation was the Honor Choir’s favorite place to perform, according to the students. Choir members also wrote personal greetings in Christmas cards and gave them out to the residents. According to EISD officials, the choir members felt like they were truly serving the residents and loved singing for an enthusiastic and appreciative audience.

The Honor Choir finished the tour with a surprise stop at the EISD Admin building, pictured above.

Songs performed included Deck the Halls, Away in a Manger, Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, Here Comes the Snow, Golden Ribbons Silver Bows, Ding Dong Merrily on High, and We Wish you a Merry Christmas.

Early Elementary School Music Teacher and Honor Choir Director is Heather Smith, who is assisted by EES paraprofessional Crystal Kirby.
