Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes, compiled as reported this week by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Lake Brownwood

Water clear; 60–64 degrees; 12.27′ low. Black bass are fair on buzzbaits, Persuader crankbaits, and pumpkinseed soft plastic worms over brush piles in 10–20 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies and pet spoons off lighted docks at night. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel catfish are fair on cut bait and stinkbait over baited holes in 12–20 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

Lake Coleman

Water clear; 64–68 degrees; 18.95′ low. Black bass are fair on white spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Rat–L–Traps. Hybrid striper are good on green striper jigs. Crappie are fair on live minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on shrimp and minnows. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 46–51 degrees; 42.32′ low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigs, jigs and shakyheads. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs shallow.

Lake Proctor

Water murky; 62–66 degrees; 12.54′ low. Black bass are good on purple, black/yellow, and chartreuse soft plastic worms. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good but small on jigging spoons. Crappie are good on minnows in 12–15 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on cut shad and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
