Spirit of Christmas Lighted Parade Set for Thursday Night in Downtown Brownwood

The 2014 Spirit of Christmas Lighted Parade is set to kick off Thursday, December 4th at 6:30 PM in downtown Brownwood.

The parade will begin at the corner of Adams Street and Carnegie, traveling on Adams Street to Center Avenue; turn right on Center down to North Broadway where it will turn right on Fisk Street then travel to Baker Street when it will turn left and conclude at Carnegie.

This year’s parade is sponsored by Texas Rock Crusher Railway and will center around a railroad theme.  Beverly Norris with the Lehnis Railroad Museum has been named this year’s grand marshal.  The parade will also be broadcast by KTXS-TV.

The parade will feature floats, vehicles, walkers, horses, classic cars, marching bands and more.

The Spirit of Christmas Lighted Parade will kick off a weekend of holiday events including the 6th annual Christmas Under the Stars Festival on Friday December, 5th and Saturday, December 6th sponsored by KTXS-TV.  The festival will  include Mr. and Mrs. Claus, ice skating, pony rides, big wheel races and several holiday themed contests.
