ChesserMargaretMargaret Chesser, 74, of Brownwood, TX passed away peacefully the morning of Wednesday, December 3, 2014, in Brownwood.  She was a beloved Wife, Mom, Teacher, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.  Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 8, at Central United Methodist Church, 1501 Second Street in Brownwood, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tim Boeglin officiating.  Interment will follow at Oakview Cemetery in Mullin, TX.  Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 7, at Heartland Funeral Home.

Margaret Anne Lees was born June 14, 1940, in Morrisville, Vermont, the daughter of Wilfred and Williamina Lees and was a 1958 graduate of Brownwood High School.  While in high school, she taught dance classes for Lon L. Smith. On August 28, 1964, she married Bill Chesser at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Brownwood.  She graduated from Howard Payne University with an education degree and obtained her Masters Degree in Education from Tarleton State University.  She taught 6th grade at Woodland Heights, Central Sixth and Brownwood Intermediate in the Brownwood Independent School District before retiring after 25 years of service. Her passion was teaching science.

She was an active member of Central United Methodist Church of Brownwood for over 50 years.  She was a proud member of the United Methodist Women and several Women’s Circles.

Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Bill Chesser; two sons; Pat Chesser and wife, Vickie, Chuck Chesser and wife, Stephanie, all of Brownwood.  Six grandchildren: Taylor Chesser of College Station, TX and Tristan, Madison, Sydney, Justin, and Kylie Chesser, all of Brownwood, and one great grandchild, Caroline Chesser of College Station, TX, also survive her.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Arnold Lees.
