Betty Lawson “Punkin” Forrester

FORRESTERBetty Lawson “Punkin” Forrester, 57, of Brownwood, went to be with her Lord and Savior in Abilene, Sunday November 30, 2014.

Funeral services, under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home in Brownwood, will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday the 3rd of December at the Netherton Chapel with Bro. David Barnum officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:00  –  8:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche. You are invited to sign the online register to the family or come by the funeral home.

Betty Lawson was born August 1, 1957, in Brownwood, TX, to Ben and Betty (Griffin) Lawson. After high school, “Punkin” began her work life in Health Care caring for people nursing and hospice. She was a lifelong resident of Brownwood and a faithful member of the Grosvenor Baptist Church. “Punkin” was a lover of people, never meeting a stranger. She had a big heart and would do anything to help the people she came in contact with. One of Punkin’s hobbies was going to garage sales and auctions. She enjoyed looking for items that would satisfy other people’s needs and buy them with anticipation of the delight the recipients would have.

Betty is survived by her husband of six years, Wayne Forrester; daughter, Gidget Diane Darnell and husband Stacy; grand children, Stephen Durden and wife Bailey, Kelly Lawson, Cameron York; brother and sisters, Teresa (Lawson) and Bruce Tiner, Barbara (Lawson) and John Casiday, Iris (Lawson) and Mike Turner, Ben W. Lawson Jr., William Leroy Lawson, Carol (Lawson) and Donnie York, Billy Joe Lawson, Jackie D. Lawson, Anita (Lawson) and Wade Canon, Clarence H. Reeves, Travis D. and Yvonne Reeves, Teri Ann Lynch, Mark Lynch , Brian T. Duke, Rick Roberts, Belinda (Roberts) Van Ryan, Becky (Roberts) Timmons, and Frank Roberts; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Yvonne  and Charles Singer; brother-in-law, Caroll Forrester; step-mothers, Grace Lawson and Peggy Pierce, and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Betty was preceded in death by her father Ben Walton Lawson, mother, Betty Blandin; grandmother, Lela Lawson; brother, Johnny Roberts.
