A graveside funeral service with military honors for James David Petty, age 48, of Brownwood, will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in Greenleaf Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

Mr. Petty died Monday, December 1, 2014 in Brownwood surrounded by his family.

He was born in Fort Worth on May 17, 1966.  James served his country in the US Navy.  He later worked as a crane operator and a truck driver.

James is survived by a daughter, Hope Street, a son, Justin Petty, two grandchildren, his mother, Jerri Fugett, his father, Curtis Petty, five sisters, Charlyne Thedford, Denice Bessent, Sheila Garcia, Angela Shriner, and Joy Dalton.
