Ice Skating Rink to Open Day After Thanksgiving

Brownwood’s ice skating rink is returning for the third year in a row and will be open to the public starting Friday, November 28th and available through Saturday, December 6th during the 6th annual Christmas Under the Stars Festival.

The public is invited to ice skate on the synthetic ice rink which will be located in the parking lot of the Depot Complex at 600 E. Depot Street.

The rink will be open to the public  during the following hours:

November 28th – 1 – 8 PM
November 29th – 11 AM – 8 PM
November 30th – 1-6 PM
December 1st through 5th – 3-8 PM
December 6th – 11 AM – 8 PM

Cost to skate is $2 per person for a 20 minute session and ice skates are available at no additional cost.

The 6th annual Christmas Under the Stars Festival sponsored by KTXS-TV will feature holiday games, crafts, food and attractions for kids of all ages.  The event will take place on Friday, December 5th and Saturday, December 6th from 4-8 PM at the Depot Complex and the Lehnis Railroad Museum.  Key attractions will include Mr. and Mrs. Claus, ice skating, rock climbing wall, Big Wheel Races and Treats for Santa Contest.   Additional sponsors for the festival include Howard Payne University, Brownwood Women’s Clinic, KYOX “The OX,” and Allegiance Ambulance.  The ice skating rink is sponsored by Affiliated Bank, Brownwood ISD, CMS Health Care and Ranger College.

The annual lighted Christmas Parade will be held Thursday, December 4th at 6:30 PM in Downtown Brownwood and is sponsored by the Texas Rock Crusher Railway.
