Law Enforcement Blotter 11/18

Sunday, November 16

*11:41 PM – Brownwood Police were called to a north Brownwood motel regarding the theft of a firearm.  According to the report, the complainant advised that his gun had been stolen out of his vehicle and he saw a male subject walking away from the area.  He followed the subject who entered a dark colored vehicle which fled the scene heading toward Early, the report states.  The motel where the theft occurred had video surveillance and the suspect was able to be located and identified as 43-year-old Pablo Guillermo Adame of Brownwood, according to the officer’s report.  The firearm was recovered and another male with Adame, identified as 27-year-old Jay Robert Gaffga of Brownwood, was found to be in possession of marijuana, the report states.  Adame was arrested and charged with theft of a firearm and burglary of a vehicle.  Gaffga was charged with possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone, tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair, unlawful possession of a firearm by felon, theft of a firearm, and burglary of a vehicle.

Monday, November 17

*10:33 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Streckert Drive regarding a hit and run.  According to the report, an officer was flagged down by a male subject who stated that his vehicle had been struck while he was in the hospital.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant hired a man to install windows in his home in Big Lake, Texas while at another property he owns at Lake Brownwood.  The suspect agreed to do the work and accepted an advance payment of $4250, the report states.  The suspect has not completed the work, he does not work for the company he represented to be an employee of and he has not returned the payment to the complainant, the report states.

*Brown County sheriff’s Office arrested 23-year-old Tony Catarino Garcia, Jr. of Hamlin for motion to adjudicate/possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and for warrants related to possession of a dangerous drug (Haskell County), failure to identify (Dewitt County) and theft (Dewitt County). Garcia was being held at the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $10,500.

*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 34-year-old Juanita Jean Jarvis of Santa Anna.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.
