VFW Post 3278 issued the Men’s Auxiliary their Guidon during their Joint Meeting recently.

The significance of the Guidon is that it represents the leader of the unit. When the commander is in, his guidon is displayed for everyone to see.

The Veterans of Foreign War traces its roots back to 1899 when veterans of the Spanish-American War (1898) and the Philippine Insurrection (1899-1902) founded local organizations to secure rights and benefits for their service.  The VFW Post and its auxiliaries’ members while working to serve veterans of foreign war, also provide assistance to many charities through their fundraising events held throughout the year.
