The Farewell Ball for the 21st Cavalry Brigade (Air Combat) was held at Fort Hood on Friday, November 14, 2014.

Since 1984, the 21st Cavalry Brigade (Air Combat) has been instrumental in strengthening and supporting the United States and the United States Army by training and fielding the most lethal combat-ready aviation units in the world. The colors are now being retired as the 21st is being deactivated in June 2015.

Officers of the 21st Cavalry Brigade, air combat unit, made their final flight from Brownwood Regional Airport on Monday, July 21, 2014 in a ceremony which represented the end of a 27 year relationship with the City of Brownwood.  Representatives from Brownwood attended the event and presented a Brownwood Mafia Certificate to Colonel John C. White of the 21st Cav, honoring their service to Brownwood and to the country.

White (the last commanding Officer of the 21st Cavalry Brigade (Air Combat) holding the Brownwood Mafia Certificate), Dr. Steve Kelly, and Brigadier General Dan Locker.
