Irene Armendarez Heard

HeardIrene Armendarez Heard, age 45, of Early went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Care Nursing and Rehabilitation. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. – 2 Timothy 4:7”

Irene was born October 10, 1969 to Joe and Doris (Diaz) Armendarez in Brownwood. She graduated from Zephyr in 1988. Irene married George Heard in Blanket on October 31, 1995. She was correctional officer at Ron Jackson Correctional Facility for many years. She was a former member of the Brown County Jr. Sheriff’s Posse. Irene was a member at High Mesa Cowboy Church. She loved her horses and the rodeos.

Irene is survived by her husband, George Heard of Early; daughter, Juakania Clark of Blanket; step-children, Tommy Heard of Agleton, Terri Heard of Brownwood, Faye Heard of Brownwood, and GiGi Lewis and husband Jerry of El Campo; grandson, Quayde Heard of Early; mother, Doris Calder and husband Eddie of Blanket; uncles, Simon Armendarez of Early and Lupe Armendarez of Gainsville; aunt, Maria Martinez of San Saba. She is also survived by numerous other family member and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Armendarez; and grandparents.

Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Nail officiating. Visitation for the family will be from 2-4 p.m. prior to memorial service at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.balylockfuneralhome.com. Memorials for Irene can be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society.
