Brownwood High School Varsity Girls, JV Boys and Girls outran their opponents in Wednesday’s district cross country meet, regaining the 6-4A District Championships.  Varsity boys placed second by only 3 points under the first place Varsity Boys of Stephenville High School.

In Varsity competition, Jessica Romero and Justin Gomez each placed 3rd, helping their teams stay at the top of the race.  Romero (a junior) ran a 12:52 2 mile race, while Gomez (a senior) had a time of 17:54 in the 5K event.  Other top athletes of the day were JV girls team members Jaycee Lenz (freshman) with a 13:46, Alexis Solis (sophomore) running a 14:20 and Micaela Lombrano earning a 14:48 in the JV girls 2 mile run and Chance Goodgion (senior) with a time of 20:21 in the JV boys 5K event.
