The Early Chamber of Commerce held their 2014 annual awards banquet on Tuesday night to recognize not only their accomplishments from the past year, but the people that helped make them possible.

Awards were presented for teachers of the year from each Early ISD campus, Citizen of the Year, Member of the Year, Ambassador of the Year, Business of the Year and a special appreciation award.

Rex Tackett, emcee of the event, also expressed gratitude and recognition for Early Chamber board members, ambassadors and staff.

Four teachers from Early ISD were presented with awards as teachers of the year for their campus.  These teachers were elected by their peers and include Early Primary – Sheryl Carothers, Early Elementary – Paula Pate, Early Middle School – Chad Burleson, and Early High School – Judith Ozuna.

Citizen of the Year was presented to Jared Trowbridge from last year’s recipient, David Furry.  Trowbridge was recognized for his community involvement in many volunteer organizations in the area.

Member of the Year was given to Ron Isom for his outstanding support of the Chamber this year.

Ambassador of the Year was presented to Helen Tatum.

Business of the Year was awarded to CMS Healthcare.

Ken Thomas was also given an award in appreciation of his service to the City of Early.
