Juan “Mono” Romero, 19, of Brownwood, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014, in Brownwood.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, October 15, 2014, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel.  Juan will be laid to rest in Greenleaf cemetery, following the chapel service.  A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, with a rosary service beginning at 7:00pm.

Juan Roman “Mono” Romero was born September 5, 1995, in Brownwood, TX, to his father, Francisco Juan Romero, and his mother, Mary Ann Bastardo Rodriguez and Federico Rodriguez.  Juan was a very outgoing and fun loving person.  He had a great sense of humor and really enjoyed joking with his friends and family.  Juan also enjoyed fishing, rapping, and bike riding.  Juan had a very strong work ethic and was willing to do what was necessary to get the job done.  Juan was a great person, a wonderful son, an amazing nephew, and a good friend.  Juan was also very excited about becoming a father and getting to meet his son, who is due in February.  Juan will be dearly missed by all that knew him and loved him.

Juan is preceded in death by his Uncle Gus; grandmother, Esther Camacho; and great-grandparents, Fermin and Frances Bastardo.

Juan is survived by his mother and step-father, Mary and Federico Rodriguez, of Brownwood; father, Francisco Juan Romero of Mexico; grandparents, Victor and Rita Bastardo; brothers, Victor Alfonso Romero and Luis Fernando Romero, both of Brownwood; sister, Mariela Rodriguez of Brownwood; aunts and uncles, Elida and Jose Holguin of Dublin, TX, Joe Bastardo of Brownwood, Teresa and Francisco Esparza of Oklahoma City, David Olalde of Beaver, WV, and Victor Bastardo, Jr., of Tulia, TX.; cousins, Joey Rangel, Victoria Holguin, Kevin Rangel, Pricilla Holguin, Angela Rangel, Kayleigh Rangel, Kaleb Rangel, Esmeralda and Illiana Holguin, mFermin and Victor Bastardo, Samantha Bastardo, David Olalde, Jr., Joe Wayne Bastardo, Jr., Joe Anthony Bastardo, and Faith Luciana, and many, many, friends.
