McGlassonJohnnyFuneral services for Johnny Lee McGlasson, 55, of Brownwood, will be held at 10 am on Saturday, October 11, in the Netherton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Barnum officiating. Interment will follow in Rocky Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm this evening, October 10, at the funeral home.

Mr. McGlasson passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, in Brownwood.

Johnny McGlasson was born on August 30, 1959, in Brownfield Texas, a son of Billy Joe McGlasson and Sandra Gene Maxwell McGlasson. He graduated from Denver City High School in 1977 and had spent most of his adult life living in Brownwood. On November 25, 1980, Johnny married the love of his life Tressie Reeder.

He worked as a Diesel Technician for McCorkle Truck Lines Inc. and had enjoyed anything that had to do with being out on the water in his spare time, like skiing and fishing, camping and fishing, spending time with his two little sidekicks, Sandy and Girl, and fishing…

Johnny was a hardworking man with a great devotion to his family. Above all else in his life, taking care of his mother and providing for his family was his main priority. He was a great man and will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Tressie  McGlasson of Brownwood; one son, John Maxwell and wife Deborah of Sundown, Texas; one daughter, Jessica Renee McGlasson of Brownwood; his mother, Sandra Gene McGlasson of Brownwood; three grandchildren, Alyzah McGlasson, Mathayus McGlasson and Avyian “ATM” McGlasson.  He is also survived by three brothers, Gary Paul McGlasson and wife Clara of Spokane, Washington, Kenneth Gene McGlasson and wife Kathy of Liberty, Texas and Bobby Joe McGlasson and wife Beverly of Denver City, Texas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe McGlasson and his father in law, Buddy Reeder.

Friends and family members are invited and encouraged to sign the online guestbook at www.nethertonfuneralhome.com.
