DeerProject2014ATVGood Samaritan Ministries announces that this week, October 5 – 11, is the last week to purchase a ticket for a chance to win the Yamaha Grizzly 300 4-Wheeler being raffled by Big Country Ford and House of Wheels benefitting the Good Samaritan Ministries’ Deer Project.

Tickets are $10 each or 12 for $100 and are available at Big Country Ford, House of Wheels, Citizens National Bank, Prosperity Bank, Texas Bank and Good Samaritan Ministries. One hundred percent of the money raised from the raffle will benefit the Deer Project of Good Samaritan Ministries.

The Deer Project, in its seventh year, is a program that successfully partners hunters, processors and donors in order to provide a lean source of protein to Brown County residents at risk of hunger.

All a hunter has to do is take a legally tagged, field-dressed deer to one of the participating processors and tell them to donate it to the Deer Project. The processor then grinds the meat into two-pound chub packs that go into the freezers of the GSM food pantry.

The money raised from this raffle will help pay to process the venison.  The drawing will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 11 at the Brownwood Coliseum during Big Country Ford’s Drive4UrSchool event.

For more information about the raffle or The Deer Project, please call 643-2273 or 325-203-2489.
