Fred Emerson Reasoner

ReasonerThe 93 year Journey ended on this Earth, Friday, October 3, 2014 for Fred Reasoner as he joined most of his family in Heaven’s Glory. He was born to Walter and Ollie (Head) Reasoner in Zephyr, Texas, he was the youngest of 8 children. He grew up working in the fields with his family and played basketball for the Zephyr Bulldogs, graduating in 1941. Shortly thereafter, World War II began and he was drafted to serve his country in India, Burma, and China, driving the treacherous Burmalita Road.

After returning from his military service, he worked for Southwestern Poultry then met and married the Love of his life, Amy Juanita Butler and relocated to Bangs. From that union, they brought forth two daughters, Pamela and LaFreda. He then began his career at Texas Power and Light Company in the Generating Power Plant and retired at the age of 68 to help care for his wife until her death.
He later married Bernice Brown and cared for her until her death in 2009.He spent many wonderful hours on his tractor, raising his garden, and taking pride in his work. He was a long time Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Bangs.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ollie Reasoner; brothers, Morris, Carl, and Marion Reasoner; baby Reasoner; Sisters, Frances Reasoner, Opal Locks, and Iva Mae Heath; his wives, Juanita and Bernice; Son-in-law, Glynn Scott and grandson Scotty Brian Purcell.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters Pam Scott, and her son, Brandon Scott, his wife Elizabeth and their children, Julie Foret and Joshua Emerson Scott; LaFreda Kilburn and husband Dean,and their children, Audrey Wallace and partner Steve Dow, and their children, Rose and Grayce Wallace, Eric Kilburn, and Tiffany Lemond and husband Everett and son Noah Lemond. Also, left to cherish his memory are many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. His long term caregiver, Susan Nicholas; watch cats, Trudie and Princess and his short term family at Bangs Nursing and Rehab.

Keeping with Dad’s love of the outdoors, he wanted his service to be at graveside, Tuesday, October 7, 2014, 3 PM at Bangs Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 6, 2014, 6 pm to 8 pm at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Arrangements under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home, Brownwood, TX.
