Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes, compiled as reported this week by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Lake Brownwood

Water clear; 81–85 degrees; 12.60′ low. Black bass are good on watermelon spinnerbaits, Rat–L–Traps, and soft plastics over brush piles. Hybrid striper are good trolling hellbenders. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies off lighted docks at night. Crappie are good on Li’l Fishies and minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on cut bait and nightcrawlers over baited holes in 12–20 feet. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with perch in 12–20 feet.

Lake Coleman

Water clear; 81–85 degrees; 18.54′ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse spinnerbaits, soft plastics, and Rat–L–Traps. Hybrid striper are fair on silver striper jigs. Crappie are good on minnows and green tube jigs. Channel catfish are good on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 78–83 degrees; 40.8′ low. Black bass are good on topwater frogs early, later switching to Texas rigs, jigs and shakyheads. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs shallow.

Lake Proctor

Water murky; 82–86 degrees; 12.35′ low. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies. Crappie are fair on small minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on live bait. Yellow catfish are slow.
