Wednesday, September 24

*2:40 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4200 block of Hwy 377 South regarding theft.  According to the report, a possible suspect was named.

Thursday, September 25

*3:18 PM – Brownwood Police responded to a hit and run in the 2200 block of Coggin Avenue.  There were no injuries, the report states.

*3:49 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding an unwanted person.  The subject was located and issued a criminal trespass warning.

*4:45 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Walmart regarding a subject who had entered the store and who had an active trespass warning against them for the property.

*11:36 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of Almond Street regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, as officers attempted to stop the subject, she fled in a vehicle and led the officers on a short pursuit.  The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Marcella Ann Barela, was charged with evading arrest or detention using a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, search or transport, driving while intoxicated and failure to identify as a fugitive – intentionally providing false information.  Barela was also arrested on Brown County and Brady Police Department warrants related to speeding 10% over posted speed, driving while license suspended, two counts of failure to appear, and burglary of a habitation.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a Polaris Ranger UTV.  According to the report, the vehicle had been stolen from a property located on County Road 294 in Zephyr.  The UTV was last seen on Tuesday, September 23rd and is valued at $5000.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of criminal mischief at a residence on Bounding Main near Lake Brownwood.  The complainant stated that he had discovered a gas line cut and both tires on the trailer had been cut, along with the boat cover being cut to the point it needed to be replaced, the report states.  The boat had been parked under a carport on the property, the officer reported.  Total damage is estimated at $223.

*Brownwood Police arrested 52-year-old Michael Keith Swindler of Early on warrants related to speeding and violate promise to appear.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 42-year-old Tameka Leandra Walker of Bangs for driving while intoxicated.

Friday, September 26

*3:41 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of 12th Street regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, dispatch informed the officer that the caller had stated that Bethany Hays was on scene and acting out and trying to force her way into the residence.  This call led to the arrest of Bethany Hays for public intoxication.

*4:02 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3800 block of 4th Street regarding theft.  According to the report, a male subject was reported to have walked into the store and stole some beer.  Charges are being pursued, the report states.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.
