James “Jim” McQueen

McQueenJames “Jim” McQueen, age 82, of Richland Springs went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 20, 2014 at his home.

Jim was born on November 26, 1931 to George and Lillian (Hipsher) McQueen in Valera, Texas. Jim was in the US Army and served in the Korean War. He married Alene Ramsey in 1959 in Capps, Texas.  They moved to Richland Springs in 1982. Jim was a Baptist.  He was a member of the DAV in Helena, Montana and American Legion Post 42.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alene McQueen of Richland Springs; daughters, Wanda Huff of West, Annella Biggs and husband George of Locker, Eva Gibson of Richland Springs, Helen Bates and husband Jeffrey of Richland Springs; and Liz McQueen of Bremond; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Lura Baker and husband Robert of Brownwood. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.

Jim was preceded in by his parents; daughter, Lura Michelle McQueen; grandson, Brandon McQueen; three sisters, Ruth Walker, Pauline Cross, and Bernice Turman; and brother, Emmett McQueen.

Private Services for Jim will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba. Memorials can be sent to a charity of one’s choice in memory of Jim.  Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
