The 14th Annual Brownwood Reunion Celebration was in full swing on Saturday which was highlighted mid-morning with the Feels Like Home Grand Parade.  The parade traveled through Downtown Brownwood and crossed through the festival grounds to a huge crowd of spectators.

This year’s parade featured grand marshal Bob Hickey, a World War II Veteran who was selected as a result of his interest in another Brownwood Reunion activity, “Brownwood’s Got Talent.”  Hickey recited a poem he wrote and spoke of WWII during the BGT contest.

Hickey is involved in the community as a member of the Brownwood Camp of Gideon’s International, Lions Club International and the American Legion.

An array of floats, vehicles, bands, cheerleaders, city and county officials, and more were included in this year’s parade.  The parade was televised on KTXS in Abilene.

This year’s parade entry award winners are as follows:

1st Place:  Brownwood Nursing and Rehab

2nd Place:  Family Services Center

3rd Place:  Cross Classical Academy

Brownwood High School Lionettes are pictured above during the parade.
