Monday, September 15

*3:44 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to an open field one mile north of the intersection of FM 2940/Hwy 279N, near Cross Cut, in reference to theft of oilfield equipment.  There were 1006 feet of 4 ½ inch steel casing and (42) 25 ft. “sucker” rods stolen from that location.  The estimated value of the items is $3,810.  No suspect information was provided at the time of the report.

*A Brown county Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property on Belfast Drive in reference to theft. The complainant, an employee of the Brookesmith Special Utility District, advised they had discovered a possible theft of water at a residence in Shamrock Shores.

Wednesday, September 17

*4:42 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on Harris Lane in reference to animal cruelty.  The deputy determined that the dogs did have access to food, water, and shelter which was documented.

Thursday, September 18

*1:52 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Avenue B regarding an alleged sexual assault and theft of medication.  According to the report, the victim knew the suspects.  Suspect information was gathered and the incident is being investigated.

*4:34 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Brady Avenue regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a Galaxy S3 phone and a television were taken from the residence.  A possible suspect was named, the report states.

*6:12 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1800 block of Brady Avenue regarding the burglary of a building.  According to the report, an unknown number of men’s pearl snap shirts and a green electric weed eater were taken from the building.  A possible suspect has been identified, the report states.

*7:42 PM –Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Good Shepherd Drive regarding an accident.  According to the report, the caller stated that someone had hit a fence on Magnolia behind the Southside Village Apartments.  The responding officer was not able to locate a suspect vehicle; however, Brownwood ISD did wish to pursue charges, the report states.  The suspect was located later and issued a citation, the report states.

*10:08 PM – Brownwood Police were called a residence on Belle Plain regarding an assault that had occurred at a different location.  The incident was documented.

*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 24-year-old Breanne Nicholle Jones of Brownwood on warrants related to no driver’s license, failure to appear, and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Brandyn Spears of Brownwood for interfere with child custody and resist arrest, search or transport.

Friday, September 19

*1:58 AM – A Brownwood police officer observed a vehicle driving recklessly and at a high rate of speed in the 700 block of C. C. Woodson Road, the parking lot of Tractor Supply.  According to the report, the officer gave chase in an attempt to catch up to the vehicle which turned onto C. C. Woodson and turned left toward the City of Early.  As the driver accelerated rapidly, he lost control of the vehicle and lost control, spinning 180° into the oncoming lane of traffic.  The vehicle then travelled up over the curb and into a grassy area where it became stuck in the mud.  The driver, identified as 22-year-old Jonathan Kyle Rice of Abilene was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

*23-year-old Mandy Mae Barker of Deleon turned herself in on warrants related to motion to revoke/theft – enhanced and motion to revoke/possession of a controlled substance.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Shawna Marie Nelson of Brownwood on a Cooke County warrant related to motion to revoke/possession of a controlled substance.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.
