Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes, compiled as reported this week by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Lake Brownwood

Water clear; 81–85 degrees; 12.47′ low. Black bass are fair on green pumpkin soft plastic worms and topwaters near the docks and over brush piles. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies off lighted docks at night. Crappie are good on Li’l Fishies and minnows over brush piles in 10–18 feet, and off lighted docks at night. Channel catfish are good on cut bait and nightcrawlers over baited holes. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with perch.

Lake Coleman

Water clear; 81–85 degrees; 18.49′ low. Black bass are fair on green pumpkin spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and soft plastics. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel catfish are good on stinkbait, nightcrawlers, and liver. Yellow catfish are slow.

 

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 83–89 degrees; 40.96′ low. Black bass are good on topwater frogs early, later switching to Texas rigs, jigs and shakyheads. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs shallow.

Lake Proctor

Water murky; 82–86 degrees; 12.10′ low. Black bass are fair on perch colored crankbaits. Striped bass are good on silver spoons. White bass are good on slabs. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are fair on live bait.
