BHS Announces 2014 Homecoming Queen Nominees

Last week, Brownwood High School students nominated five young ladies who will be in the running for the 2014 BHS Homecoming Queen.  Voting for this honor will take place this week and the Queen will be announced at the Homecoming game against Alvarado on September 19th, 2014.

Below are short biographies for each Homecoming Nominee:

JenniferHinojosa

Jennifer Hinojosa was born and raised in Brownwood, Texas. Jennifer is the daughter of Johnny and Andreita Hinojosa, and is the oldest of three. She has two younger brothers, Paulo Hinojosa, who is a sophomore at Brownwood High School, and Juan Hinojosa, who is an 8th grader at Brownwood Middle School. Jennifer currently works at Sonic on Austin Avenue, and has been employed there for about a year. Jennifer has participated in National Honor Society, Choices, Cross Country, and HOSA at BHS. On Friday nights she supports the Brownwood Lions football team by being on The Lion Crew. She plans on going to college after high school to pursue her dream of becoming of a Radiologist Technician. Tarleton State University and Howard Payne University are currently two colleges Jennifer is considering to attend to make her dreams come true.

LexieLewis

Lexie Lewis is the daughter of Keith and Alicia Lewis and sister to Dylan Martin, Dylan and Grant Lewis. She has two Yorkies, Mia and Sky.  Lexie is a member of Choices, Crime Stoppers and is a member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.  She is a Captain of the BHS Varsity Cheer Squad, of which she has been a member for three years.  Lexie participates in track and has lettered since her freshman year.  She has captured district, area and regional titles in her individual events, and also set the regional record in 2013 and 2014.  In addition, Lexie made three medal winning appearances at the UIL State Track Meet.  Lexie plans on continuing her track career at the collegiate level.  At this time, she is undecided on her future major and is considering offers from several division 1 schools.

JenniferMartinez

Jennifer Martinez is the daughter of Jorge and JoAnn Martinez.  She is a member of National Honor Society, the Choices Mentoring Program, and BHS Crime Stoppers.  She has cheered for two years and is currently on the Varsity Cheer Squad.  Jennifer is also involved in the Lady Lion Athletic Program, participating in Varsity Volleyball for three years and Varsity Soccer for four years.  Additionally, she has participated in Brownwood FFA for two years.  Jennifer plans to attend college and play soccer at the collegiate level.  She is currently considering several colleges such as University of Mary-Hardin Baylor and Texas A&M.

MaddieOines

Maddie Oines is the daughter of Dr. Steve and Lynette Oines.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, Choices and Crime Stoppers, and has received the academic award of Summa Cum Laude the past two years.  Maddie has been cheering for the Brownwood Lions the past four years and is currently a captain of the 2014 Varsity Cheer Squad.  She is involved in Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Soccer, being named first team all-district in both sports.  Additionally, she is an active member of the youth group at First United Methodist Church where she also sings in the worship band.  Maddie plans to attend Texas A&M University next fall.

CoraimaRodriguez

Coraima Rodriguez was born in Chicago, Illinois. She is proud to be the daughter of Dago and Mirna Rodriguez. She has three best friends whom she loves with all her heart who happen to be her siblings, Dago Jr., Edgar and Leslie Rodriguez. Coraima currently works at Taco Casa as a Manager and has participated in National Honor Society, Choices, HOSA, Crime Stoppers, and is currently a member of Brownwood High Lion Crew. She is currently taking CNA classes to give her experience for her nursing career. Coraima’s future plans are to attend Texas Christian University (TCU) and major in nursing. Her dream is to one day become an RN and help those who are in need.
