EEvansExDirBBBSDuring the July meeting of the Brown County Big Brothers Big Sisters Board of Directors – they welcomed the new Regional Executive Director, Eric Evans.  Eric replaced Gina Jameson.

“I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing organization that positively impacts the lives of kids,” Evans said. ” I look forward to seeing this program grow with helping to connect mentors to kids and watch the lives of these kids find meaningful change and change for the better.  It is significant when someone invests a few hours a month into someone’s life and the impact upon that life could be significant for generations to come.  I want to see that happen!”

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Brown County provides mentors to local children.  Research shows that through the positive impact of a match relationship, children are more likely to graduate from high school and less likely to use drugs, alcohol or engage in high-risk behaviors.   In short, they will have more opportunity to reach their highest potential with the encouragement that an additional adult mentor can add to their life. Volunteers are asked to spend time with a child at least twice a month.

BBBS is a United Way agency primarily supported by local donations. For more information about the organization or if you would like to become a Big Brother or Big Sister, please contact Eric Evans at 325-998-2801 or emailing him at eevans@bbbstx.org Evans is also available for speaking and talking about Big Brothers Big Sisters.
