NationalAssistedLivingWk2014In honor of National Assisted Living Week 2014, September 7th – 13th, Care Nursing and Rehab and The Chatfield will sponsor a mini music concert at The Chatfield honoring two residents and longtime members of the Schubert Music Club of Brown County, Betty Cooper and Kathleen Fitzgerald.  The community is invited to attend.

Joining the ladies will be members of the Schubert Club who will be ready to enjoy a great afternoon of music.

The Schubert Club is the Brown County chapter of the National Federation of music Clubs, a non-profit philanthropic and educational organization dedicated to music education and creative and performing arts in America since 1898.  Their mission is to advance and develop American music and musicians.  Since its founding, the NFMC has grown into one of the world’s largest music organizations with club and individual members of all ages.

The NFMC is chartered by the Congress of the United States and is the only music organization member of the United Nations.  Federation members work to create a dynamic musical and cultural environment in their communities through education and sponsorship of musical events.  The Federation champions American music with awards and commissions.  Federated States proclaim November American Music Month, in which the annual Parade of American Music focuses on programs of music by American composers.  Awards are given annually to recognize educational institutions for their promotion and presentation of American music.

Together celebrating the retirement life and the “Magic of Music,” the Chatfield and Care Nursing and Rehab invite the community to join them September 9th at 3:30 p.m. For more information, contact Suzanne Faircloth at 325-200-4904 or Jodie Armstrong 325-642-0363.

National Assisted Living week was established by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995.  National Assisted Week provides a unique opportunity for residents, families, staff, volunteers and the surrounding community to come together to share with residents a variety of events and activities that show them how much their families and caregivers care for them, according to NCAL.
